The Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Works Barr . Lillian N. Stephen has today 23rd November, 2015 inspected the ongoing road construction at Jambutu. Jambutu is a settlement of thousands inhabitants at the outskirt of the state capital that have been victims of flooding. Residence and farm lands are being destroyed annually because of lack drainages and access roads.
It could be recalled that His Excellency Senator
Mohammed Umaru Jibrilla Bindow the Executive Governor of Adamawa State ordered
the construction of drainages and access road networks in Jambutu to bring to an
end the plight of the inhabitants.
The Commissioner of Works was at the site and she solicited with Jambutu community to
stop dumping of refuse in the drainage system under construction to complement government
effort. She added that they should give all necessary cooperation to the
construction company to enable it execute its responsibilities effectively.
The Commissioner was
accompanied by the site Engineer of the Ministry. Engineer
Sulaiman Mohammed inspected all the road networks under construction.
The
community applaud Governor Bindow for the quick respons to their plight and
prayed that God will grand him more wisdom to serve his people better.
A total length of 5.3
kilometres road networks and drainages will be constructed in Jambutu. Already
the contractor Triacta Construction Company has mobilised to the Site. Construction of drainages and road network are
in progress. However, at the completion of the construction
of the roads and the drainages, flooding which has for long being causing damages to
the community will a story of the past.
