The Governor of Gombe State, Alh. Muhammad Inuwa Yahya and former Governor of Adamawa State, Admiral Murtala Hammanyero Nyako were among hundreds of sympathizers who trooped in Government House Yola to commiserate with the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri over the death of his father, late Alh. Umaru Badami.


The two North East statesmen who were accompanied by their entourage for the condolence visit, described the decease, as man of integrity who left behind a legacy worthy emulating.


Adding that the death of late Alh. Badami is not a loss to Adamawa or the immediate family alone, but to the entire region of North East. They prayed that the Almighty God will grant Governor Fintiri and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable lost and the decease everlasting paradise.


Earlier, the Members of Adamawa State House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas and the Judiciary led by the State Chief Judge, Justice Ishaya Kida Banu were at the Government House Yola to condole Governor Fintiri.


The Permanent Secretaries in the State Civil Service led by the Head of Service, Dr. Edgar Amos also paid similar visit.


Also not left behind are: Gangwari Ganye His Royal Highness Alh. Adamu Umaru Sanda and his entourage, the Christian Association of Nigeria Adamawa State Chapter led by the Secretary Mr. Anthony Elishama and Muslim Council of Nigeria Adamawa State Council led by the Chairman Alh. Gambo Jika.


Other groups who commiserate with Governor Fintiri are Service Chiefs in the State, the Security personnel in Government House Yola led by the Chief Security Officer SP Othman Abubakar, NYSC members serving in Government House, politicians, bankers and several groups.


Responding to the sympathizers, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri thanked them for commiserating with him and his family and asked for God’s blessing on them.


Late  Alh. Umaru Badami retired from Nigeria Army in 1994 and died after a protracted illness in the afternoon of Sunday, 28th July, 2019 at the Federal Medical Centre Yola at the age of 82. He left behind 3 wives, 14 children and many grand children.


He has already been buried according to Islamic Injunction in Yola.
