The
Hon. Minister for Water Resources,
Engr. Suleiman H. Adamu has on Thursday, 5th March, 2020
commissioned 200,0000 cubic litres
per day at Mbamoi area of Yola South, Local Government Council in
Adamawa State. The project according to the Minister was an emergency one, aimed at providing
emergency water supply to about 150,000
inhabitant of Mbamoi town. He
hinted that the project was initiated and completed in 2019 by the Federal Ministry of Water Resources.
The project
includes the provision of 4 boreholes,
16kw solar energy system, supply of
100kva transformer, provision of fetching points among other things, the
official of the ministry stated.
The Minister urged the government and the good people of Mbamoi town to support, guard and sustain the water
project.
Earlier in his remarks, Hon. Hassan Kaigama, Commissioner water
resources, Adamawa State assured the
Minister of the commitments and willingness
of Adamawa State Government in
supporting the Federal Government of Nigeria
in providing clean water to the
people of the state. He charged the
benefiting community to take ownership
of the facility so as to guard and
sustain it.
The
water facility was officially handed over to the state ministry of water resources. Recall
that the minister was in the state to inspect some of its ongoing projects in
Adamawa.
