Speaking at the Kofare Isolation Centre donated by Bishop Makanto for the State, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri congratulated and applauded the front line Health workers for the successful treatment of the patients.
The Governor ordered immediate reintegration of the recovered patients to the society and call on the people of the State not to be panic and stigmatise them, rather embrace them as COVID-19 is manageable and curable.
Governor Fintiri equally thanked Adamawa COVID-19 Containment Committee, the front line workers as well as the good people of the State for shunning politics and gave the Government necessary support to contain/prevent the spread of the pandemic.

He enjoined the people of the State to continue following the guidelines spelt out by experts in preventing COVID-19.
Earlier, the Secretary to the State Government who is also the Chairman of Adamawa COVID-19 Containment Committee, Mal. Bashiru Ahmad intimate Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri about the recovered patients.The Chairman explained that twice the samples of the five out of seventeen patients at the Isolation Centre were sent for test at laboratory, the result came out to be negative. He said the Medical Doctors handling the cases of COVID-19 in the State therefore recommended their discharge.
Shortly after the event, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was in company of his Deputy, Chief Crowther Seth, Chief of Staff Prof. Maxwell Gidado other top Government Officials as well as the State Containment Committee inspected the ongoing renovation work at the Psychiatric Unit at the Specialist Hospital Yola.
The Psychiatric Unit is undergoing renovation to be converted as permanent COVID-19 Isolation Centre.
It could be recalled that Adamawa State recorded its COVID-19 index case on 22nd April, 2020 with travelling history from Kano. Mubi has been declared as epidemic centre with over 5 cases.
As of the time of filling this story, Adamawa State has recorded 17 COVID-19 cases, 5 have recovered while 12 are still active cases.
