Tingno Communal Clash: Gov Fintiri Visits Area To Ensure Normalcy Return

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri rushed to Tingno in Lamurde Local Government Area where communal clash involving Chobo and Hausa people erupted.

The Chief Security Officer of the State, was accompanied by high power delegation including his Deputy, Crowther Seth, SSG Mal. Bashiru Ahmad, Brigade Commander 23rd Armour Brigade, Police Commissioner, Director DSS and other government officials.

In an interview with newsmen in Tingno,he described the clash as devastating, alarming and an unfortunate having the people involved in the clash lives together for several years.

Governor Fintiri disclosed that security operatives have been drafted to the area and they were able to end the clash while normalcy is returning. 

He explained that the immediate cause of the clash is yet to be ascertain however he said the information at hand now is that the fight sparked as a result of argument between two people which escalated to communal clash.

While noting the agricultural potential of the area, Governor Fintiri call on the two side to sheath their sword and continue to live peacefully. He assured some of the displaced people who were rescued by the security, mostly children and the aged that Government will take care of them. 

He therefore ordered the evacuation of some of the victims using vehicles in his convey for a refuge at Lafiya Primary School in Lafiya Lamurde. 

Also speaking to Newsman,  the Adamawa State Police Commissioner, Olugbenga Adeyanju revealed that his men were drafted to the area and they are on top of the situation. The CP said that so far, the number of casualties are yet to ascertain.

On his part, the Chairman Laurie Local Government Mr. Burto Pwadyangakai William explained that the clash begun on Thursday evening which resulted to burning of dorsen houses in Tito and Tingno adding that hundreds of people were displaced.
