NEWS:Adamawa EXCO Approves Over N718m For Construction of Cottage Hospitals.

Adamawa State Executive Council has approved over seven hundred and eighteen million naira for construction of cottage hospitals in the state.

The Council equally ratified and approved contract awarded to A. A. Lawan Investment Limited for the construction of office block at the Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board and appointment of financial and ethic consultant and I T Firm.

Briefing Government House Yola correspondents after the 11th EXCO meeting of the year 2020 presided by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the Commissioner Ministry of Information and Strategy, Dr. Umar Garba Pella said the Council has approved seven hundred eighteen million, nine hundred and fourty five thousand,  eight hundred and thirty two naira twenty one kobo (N718,945,832.21k) for the construction of four new cottage hospitals in Lamurde, Gombi, Shelleng and Girei.

He explained that the contract for building of cottage hospital in Lamurde was awarded to Rebuild Nigeria Limited at the cost of one hundred and seventy nine million, fourty seven thousand, two hundred and twenty one naira (N179, 047, 221.00kb) while Gombi Cottage Hospital will be built by Unipola Nigeria Limited at the cost one hundred and eighty million, nine hundred and nine thousand, four hundred and fourty two naira (N180,909,442.00).

Others are Shelleng Cottage Hospital, awarded to D&D Construction Limited at the cost of one hundred and seventy nine million, nine hundred and seventy nine thousand, one-hundred and two naira, seventy one kobo(N179,979,172.71kb) and Girei Cottage Hospital, awarded to IDT Construction Limited at the cost of one hundred and seventy nine million, twenty-nine thousand, seven hundred and eighty nine naira, fifty kobo (N179,029,789.50kb).

Dr. Pella said construction of the hospitals is in line with the Governor Fintiri led administration policy to touch all sectors and with the health sector to be upheld. Adding that the cottage hospitals which is secondary, will serve as refferal centres for primary health care centres their respective areas.

According to Dr. Umar Garba Pella, the Council also ratified and approved for the construction of office block at the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board which he said it was halted due to the contract awarded by the past administration in 2018 did not follow due process.

He said the council has approved one hundred and twenty nine million, seven hundred and thirty three thousand, seven hundred and twenty five naira, sixty four kobo (N129, 733,725.64kb) for the contractor,  MSSR A. A. Lawan Investment Limited after procurement process of Adamawa State was followed.

Also approved by the CouCoun says the Council spokesman was administrative approval for the appointment of Financial and Ethic Consultant, MSSR Ahmed Bawa. Dr. Pella said the financial consulting firm will develop a template, prepare and upload quarterly report of Account General of the State for the next five years from 2020 to 2022.

In the same vain,  the Information and Strategy 

Commissioner said the Council has ratified the appointment and engagement of APM Computers and Communication Technology Consulting Firm to develop new website as the World Bank requirements for the state Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability to post the published account and related documents of the office of the Budget Department in the Accountant General office, Board of Internal Revenue, and other MDAs participating in the World Bank project,.
