Adamawa State Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta has tasked students on the need to be focused, dedicated and committed towards attaining Excellence.

Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, made the call at the home coming of federal government girls college yola Alumni as well as 45 years anniversary of the school, on Friday.

The home coming event, which coincided with 45 years anniversary of the college, attracted old girls from all walks of life, with the aim to meet and renewed relationship and to chat the way forward for the college.

Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, who was the first Head Girl of the college, while interacting with the students, encouraged them not to be distracted in the pursuit for academic excellence  but to  remain focused, strong and dedicated at all times.

Professor Keletapwa, urged Alumni of federal government girls college yola, to be creative and stand united, as well as find a ways to give back to the Alma Mata.

According to Professor Farauta, the priority of the Alumni is to create an enabling learning environment for the younger ones, and encouraged the students to be worthy ambassadors of the school.

She commended the staff and management of the college for team work towards the school achievement, and appreciated them for being part of the event.

Dr. Chizoba Wonodi, the national president in a keynote address aknowledged the presence of old girls and appreciated their commitment, while also encouraging them to sustain the tempo.

She appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in promoting education in the state and his efforts of his administration to  construct a storm water drainage in front of the school for easy flow of water for safety of the school fence and to check perennial flooding.

Earlier in a welcome address, the principal of federal government girls college Mrs. Elizabeth Ebun, appreciated Adamawa state government for changing the narratives of the entire state on education, noting that up to date the school still maintain its standard.

The Alumni took time, went round to inspect the school structures, figure out where attention would be directed to urgently.
