Today marks the commencement of a pivotal workshop organized by the State Accountability, Transparency, and Effectiveness (State2State) Activity, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). 

This initiative aims to bolster transparent, accountable, and effective governance in Adamawa State, particularly focusing on improving service delivery in education, health, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sectors.

The workshop, titled ‘Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Ministry-Level Communication’, has drawn participation from information officers across various ministries within the state government. Held at the prestigious Golden Alpine Hotel and Resort in Yola, Adamawa State, the event spans three days from June 24 to June 26, 2024.

In her opening remarks, the State2State Communication Expert Mrs. Nneka Egbuna, representing the State2State Activity, underscored the workshop’s significance in shaping the state’s communication strategy. The primary goal is to establish clear guidelines and protocols aligned with existing laws, civil service regulations, policies,  thereby enhancing both internal and external communication initiatives."The first draft of the SOP is expected to be finalized by the conclusion of this workshop,"

 Mrs. Nneka Egbuna announced, emphasizing the collaborative efforts between the State2State Activity, Adamawa State government, and civil society organizations (CSOs) to foster effective governance communication.

 Participants are expected to engage in interactive sessions aimed at developing comprehensive SOPs tailored to each ministry's communication needs. This strategic approach seeks to streamline information management processes and ensure coherence in disseminating the state government’s initiatives and achievements. The workshop represents a proactive step towards achieving sustainable development goals through enhanced transparency and accountability within Adamawa State.
