The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has concluded its two day  screening for Local Government election candidates. This crucial phase of the election preparation is aimed at ensuring that all aspiring candidates meet the necessary requirements and standards to run for office, thereby upholding the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.

The day two training recorded a significant turnout of aspirants from various Local Government Areas, especially those that encountered problems with their documents in day one.

The diverse pool of candidates reflects the democratic spirit and the active political engagement within the state. Candidates were also given the opportunity to present their documents and respond to questions from the screening committee.

The Chairman of  ADSIEC Alh. Mohammed Umar, while responding to journalists, shortly after the screening assured that the whole process would be transparent, noting that any political party that emerged victorious would be declared winner. He added that 12 political parties are going to participate in the election out of the 19 registered political parties in the state.

Many candidates commended ADSIEC for the thoroughness and transparency of the screening process, they expressed confidence in the Commission's ability to conduct fair exercise. Others noted, " That the screening was rigorous and well-organized,  it's reassuring to see such dedication to ensuring that only qualified candidates can contest."

Observers such as security personnel, board of internal revenue members, civil society organizations, as well as the media were present to monitor the proceedings, ensuring accountability and fostering public trust in the electoral process.
