In a bid to ensure a smooth and secure conduct of the forthcoming local government council polls in the state, Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) held a crucial meeting with representatives of security outfits in the state. 

The meeting, chaired by the chairman of the commission Alh. Mohammed Umar, took place at the ADSIEC headquarters as well as brought together key stakeholders, some  security outfits representatives, to discuss and strategies for maintaining peace and order in the local polls.

The representatives of the security outfits during the meeting assured of their commitment to providing comprehensive security coverage across all polling units in the state, including the deployment of personnel in all the polling units across the 21 local government councils, in other to maintain peace and order, respond swiftly to any incidents of violence or disruption that will occure in the process.

It was agreed that there would be a concerted effort to sensitize the general public on the need and importance of peaceful participation in the electoral process, such as campaigns to discourage violence and ensure voters awareness of their rights and responsibilities.

The security representatives reiterated their commitment to non-partisan, ensuring that their operations would be impartial and aimed solely at maintaining peace and order.

The meeting between the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission and representatives of security outfits marks a significant step in the preparation for the local council polls, with comprehensive security plans in place and a strong commitment from all  parties involves as well the state well-positioned to conduct peaceful and credible elections. 

The collaborative efforts of ADSIEC and the security agencies aim to foster an enable environment where voters can exercise their franchise with enthusiasm to strengthen democracy.
