The Honourable commissioner of Health in Adamawa
state, Dr. Fatima Abubakar Atiku said Governor Muhammadu Jibrilla Bindow is
having a sound plan to rehabilitate damaged hospitals in the state.
According to her the Governor is having good
policies that will see to the need of both the general and cottages hospital
which at the end it will over hold even the primary health care in the state
that will meet the health needs of people in grass roots.
"His Excellency is repositioning the entire
state with much priority to the health sector without living any stone unturned
with his good policies; Plans are even on ground to rehabilitate all
damaged Hospitals in the 21 LGAs". Fatima said
Fatima said this on a day tour to Mubi and Maiha
LGAs to inspect and have a stock taken of the functionality of their
health facilities which have been in a dilapidated condition and known to
the ministry for over three years.
She revealed that Maiha General Hospital is in
deplorable state as nothing is 5% working, all the structures need one urgent
attention for reconstruction.
“The ceiling has been ripped apart due to the
roof been blown off during rainy season, hospital staff have being working
under very unfriendly condition due to the state of the building ". She
added
She also revealed that Mubi General Hospital is
manageable much better as only water system need to be planted and a mortuary
because it has been previously visited by the past Government.
The Commissioner who toured
the LGAs with high profile personality of the Ministry that includes; Executive
Chairman ADSPADA, Dr. Abdullahi Dauda Bellel, Permanent Secretary Ministry of
Health, Alh. Mahmud Abubakar and Dr Lawal Hamidu, Executive Chairman HMB.
