People of Adamawa state have been called upon to be security conscious by reporting any suspicious person or object to the security agents. Governor Muhammed Umar Jibrilla who made the call during a one day public sensitization programme on security held at the Banquet Hall of government house Yola. The Governor explained that maintaining peace and security is binding on everybody in the society.
He stated that without peace and security no meaningful development can be achieved in the state and the country at large. Governor Muhammad Umar Jibrilla advised the general public to be mindful of unnecessary gatherings and congestion at places like Banks, Worship places among others.
In a paper presented by security commanders which include the Brigade Commander of 23 Brigade Colonel A.Popoola,who delivered a paper titled safety security and you. The State Commissioner of Police Mr Gabriel Adaji's paper is tittled Suicide Bombing and Preventive measures while Director of State Security Services Alhaji Mahmud T .Ningi spoke on Neighborhood Security, Information Gathering and Civic Responsibility of Citizens.
The security commanders however called on the general public to be extra vigilant and to report any strange movement such as persons attracting attention of people through fake fights, Gifts ,as well as unwholesome means.
The sensitization programme was attended by various organisations such as Religious groups, Market Associations,Traditional Rulers, Technocrats, and other voluntary organisations across Adamawa state.
