NEWS: Hon. Commissioner Ministry For Women Affairs Holds Press Briefing on ...

Today, being the 26th  of May 2016. The Hon. Commissioner  Ministry For Women Affairs, Social Development  and Integration. Alhaji Aliyu  Bello  Tola holds  press briefing on National  Children’s  Day Celebration  which is coming up on the 27th May, 2016. At conference Hall, Ministry  for women  Affairs.

According to the Hon. Commissioner,   Children’s Day is an annual  event celebrated every 27th  of May  of the year  In  Nigeria since 1963.

The theme of this years  Celebration is “PROTECT THE RIGHTS  OF THE CHILD IN THE FACE OF VIOLENCE AND INSECURITY; END CHILD MARRIAGE”  The commissioner said “this theme is chosen to sensitise  the general public  on the  protection of children from violence, abuse and  to raise awareness  on ending child marriage in Nigeria.

The line –up of activities  to mark the celebration are as follows:

i- 26 – 5- 2016 – Press briefing, Schools rehearsals.

ii- 27-5 -2016 – Grand Finale. Schools Match pass /Parade.

iii- 27-5-2016-  Garden party for children ( special Guest of Honour Her Excellency  the wife of the Executive Governor of Adamawa State.

The commissioner called on all parents, Children, Principals, Headmasters /mistress, gentlemen of the press, all Stakeholders  and the general public to the 2016 National Children’s  Day Celebration  at Mahmud Ribado Square  by 7:30 am prompt.

Finally the Commissioner  express his profound  gratitude to our child frindly Governor , His Excellency Governor of Adamawa  State, Sen. Muhammad Umar Jibrilla ( Bindow)  who made financially and morally  possible for  children’s in the state  to be part of this year’s celebration.
