The APC Congress committee for Adamawa ward Congress on Monday maintained that the Congress was free and fair.

Alhaji Musa Mahmud, Chairman of the Congress committees for Adamawa made this known while briefing newsmen in Yola.
Mahmud said that his committee conducted a Congress devoid of partiality.

He also said that the turn out was quite impressive against allegations in some quarters that the Congress did not hold.

He recalled that the extension of the day earlier scheduled for the Congress was to address some of the salient issues aiming at conducting a rancour free congress.

“We met all stakeholders to a meeting on Friday and we discovered some members were aggrieved.

“For us to conduct an exercise devoid of rancour, I extended the date for the congress to enable the aggrieved buy form .

“Some people made a bulk purchase and we told them that such was against the guidelines but whoever that had a bank teller would be considered.

” All parties agreed that the congress should be shifted to Sunday and we did that,the turn out was very impressive, as if this was the general election and I have evidence of all that took place,’ Mahmud said.

The chairman urged the aggrieved to forward their complaints to the three man appeal committee, adding that his assignment was completed.
According to him, aggrieved members are integral part of a process.

Recall that the nation wide ward congress for the ruling APC was scheduled for Saturday, May 6, but the committee for Adamawa shifted the date to Sunday.
