“The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), at its current population and growing at nine percent yearly, is among the fastest growing cities in the world and truly an investors heaven.” FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, made this disclosure when he represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the commissioning of Fraser Suites – a Five-Star Hotel – which debuting in Abuja’s Central Business District, yesterday, May 9, 2018.

Bello, who cited a current UN Habitat figures, lauded the Royal Pacific Group, the Hotel owners, for their demonstrated faith in Abuja. He paid growing tributes to the Nasreddin family, also owners of NASCO Foods Jos, for the nearly six decades of their investing in Nigeria.

Said the Minister, “On behalf of Mr. President, it is my pleasure to welcome all the guests gathered here today, to Abuja. This is a very important project for us in Nigeria in general and Abuja in particular, especially because we are happy to be the first country and, indeed, the first city in Africa to host the prestigious Fraser Suites.”

FCT’s support for the landmark hospitality outfit, located in Abuja’s strategic business district, according to the Minister, bear eloquent testimony of the Administration’s commitment to helping willing investors settle down in the Territory. He noted that the Administration, in keeping faith with its pledge to prospective investors, extended infrastructure and sewer lines to the hotel area as soon as they expressed interest to commence development.

Sited just hundreds of meters away from the Abuja Metro Train Station, Bello underscored the Hotel’s unique position and expressed optimism that the Abuja Light Rail would be of great service to prospective clients of the hotel. The Minister urged that they could travel by rail from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to the hotel, just located around the corner. He welcomed the hotel as a major addition to the Abuja skyline, which he indicated, has heightened estate development around the layout, improved land value and very importantly, has created jobs and would boost tourism as well as tax revenue to the FCT Administration.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Chairman, Royal Pacific Group, Dr. Attia Nasreddin, noted that the mission of the Group is to deliver world class services to its clients. He said that the Group is dedicated to the growth and development of the African Continent and driven to transform lives of the host communities in the emerging markets for generations to come.  

Nigeria, Dr, Nasreddin said, is a nation of nearly 200 million people and a country of endless possibilities as far as hospitality business is concerned. With the Abuja outfit, he indicated, Fraser Suites marks the 20 years of its existence having started in Singapore in 1998. Today it boasts of over more than 150 properties spread to more than 40 countries, with the Abuja facility being their first in Africa.

Earlier in his welcome address, the CEO, Middle East and Africa, Fraser Suites, Mr. Guus Bakker, praised the beauty of Abuja and the dynamism of Nigerians whom he described as a very special breed of people, hospitable and resilient. He expressed delight that the project finally was successfully executed despite the tough circumstances.

He stated that the brand-new property has been conceived with the lifestyle preferences of today’s discerning travellers in mind and offering intuitive services to deliver memorable services to its guests.
