NEWS: The Mantle of Leadership is now Bestowed on you - Dr. P. P Power to LGCs Heads of Service

The Chairman, Local Government Civil Service Commission, Dr. P Power  made the declaration Friday at  his office to the Heads of Service of the 21 Local Government Councils in the State. He said that this is in line with a letter he received from the State Government on the expiration of the Local Government Councils appointment recently. These Chairmen were sworn in on July 30th , 2016 and their tenure have just expired on the 31st of July 2018. Others such as the Council of Lamurde is to expires on the 8th August, 2018 and Michika on the 6th of March 2019. It is however in this regards that the  Heads of Service are  expected to assume work in their various Offices to avoid administrative vacuum.

Dr P. P Power who shortly after reading the letter said he want each and everyone of them to know that the mantle of leadership is now bestowed on them. He said they should take note that from that particular day that they have taken over, they are the Chief Securities of their Local Government Areas. "You are required to give us your active mobile lines to enable us reach you 24 hours, and also as security officers of your Local Governments, your movement is restricted especially when going outside the State but if there is any reason to travel out,  the commission must know". He added by saying abide by the rules and regulations strictly on your duty as heads of service. 

"I will be glad to see that when you leave my office each of you should hold a security meeting at your respective Local Government, call those involve in Security meeting of the Areas and please try and know the terent of your area for a successful work. Do not rush in taking decisions, investigate first before any action if there is and the must important thing is royalty ". He said.

Lastly there is a need for you to respect  Traditional rulers and cooperate with them for  essier work however, the door of the Commission is always open for you.

The Commissioner I of Local Government Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Aminu Kolore also advised them to be serious with their duties, he said the 21 Heads of Service are only answerable to the State Government and not any non Governmental  Organisations. He added that "on no account should any private body intimidate you people". Kolore told them to carry their Heads of Departments along for a successful team work, you should be prudent and very accountable at all cost.

The Leader of the delegation, Bitrus. T. Vandi Head of Service, Hong Local Government Area appreciated the effort of the Government on the advice given to them and highlighting them more about their duties. "I believe with these advice from the Government and our father Dr P. P Power, we will move forward and produce a better result". He said.
