The Adamawa state Government in conjugation
with Econometrica Consultant Ltd. Organised a 2day capacity building workshop
on New Templates for Adamawa state Planning Commission from 17th -18th
July, 2019 at the Admiral Murtala Nyako Center, State Secretariat Complex,
Yola.
Both management and staff of the State
Planning Commission were in attendance as all papers presented at the workshop
deals solely with the constitutional obligation of the commission to the state Government.
However, the workshop has the following as
its objectives; to improve the planning skills of the staff, monitoring and
Evaluation as well as
performance contract and to enlighten all staff on the need for the state to
institutionalize planning so that irrespective of change in government, whatever
that the state has, its mission and objectives in Planning as well as ongoing
projects will continue.
Professor Nazifi Abdullahi Darma, the lead consulted
presented papers with the following titles; “Relevance of strategic planning
for Effective Management, Growth and Development, “Modalities for Developing
the Adamawa state Strategic Plan”, Inter-agency coordination and Harmony; The
role of Adamawa state Planning Commission one other paper was presented by his colleague.
According
to Prof. all staff of the state planning commission are project managers and
that they all need to build up their skills for better inputs.
In a closing remark by the deputy Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Barr. Mohammed Gangs, he commended and appreciated the Econometrica Consultants Ltd for the training saying that it is really an important and interactive one. H urged all to utilise everything they might have learnt in the training.
