In an effort to contain and prevent the spread of coronavirus, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has suspended this year’s Eid-El Kabir/Sallah homage.
In a statement signed by Governor Fintiri’s Chief of Staff, Prof. Maxwell Gidado said “the homage will not hold as usual, hence suspended”.
According to Prof. Gidado, the Governor “further advised that all Sallah prayers should be held in Community Mosque and not on Eid grounds. This is due to the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic scourge”. He further said, Governor Fintiri has approved Thursday 30th and Friday 31st July, 2020 as public holidays and wishes the general public a happy and peaceful Eid-El Kabir celebration while work resumes on Monday 3rd August, 2020.
He urge all concern to adhere to this notice.
