Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri says his administration will not compromise on its determination to support farmers with modern agricultural inputs and techniques to boost farming activities in the state.


He made the remark at the Nigeria Integrated Agriculture activity, 2023 Agricultural Inputs Fair at the Mahmud Ribadu Square, Jimeta-Yola.

The 2023 Agricultural Inputs Fair is organized by "Feed The Future", the United States Government's Global Hunger and Food Security Initiative.

The program implemented by the institute of Tropical Agriculture and partners is part of USAID's contributions to the economic recovery and support to vulnerable population disenfranchised in North East Nigeria by the insurgency thereby, seeking to re-engage them in basic farming activities.

Represented by his deputy,  Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said seed is pivotal in agriculture, emphasizing that germination of seed will be determined by the quality of seed a farmer sows.

The people's Governor acknowledged the feats achieved in human capital development in the last dispensation, reiterating commitment to focus more on stomach infrastructure in his next four years.

Governor Fintiri gave kudos to the conveners of the program and partners, expressing his administration's readiness in partnering with any government and non-governmental organizations ready to contribute in transforming agriculture and all other sectors of human endeavor in Adamawa.

While encouraging the farmers to ensure their satified seeds are well stored after harvest, he tasked partners to devise means of providing Farmers with good natural fertilizers to protect the crops and the health of farmers as well as the entire citizens against the negative effect of chemical fertilizers.

The Permanent Secretary, State Ministry for Agriculture , Mrs. Dorathy Augustine emphasized that the initiative has impacted positively on the output of agricultural production in Adamawa.

She said the improvement was made possible with the awareness raised among farmers on the importance of quality and improved seeds production.

The beneficiaries testified that the knowledge on the modern farming techniques and the improved seeds has boosted their agricultural activities.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was finally conducted round to supervise the farm inputs and implements.
