Deputy Governor, professor Kaletapwa Farauta talks tough on Shila Boys activities in Adamawa state, challenging religious, traditional and other community leaders to wage a war against the menace for desired peace, unity and harmony.


The deputy Governor threw the challenge while addressing members of the state Muslim Council at her office.

The number two citizen of Adamawa was elated by the honor and solidarity the state Muslim Council had shown her.

She frowned at the ugly activities of the gang group popularly called "Shila Boys" in Jimeta and other parts of the state, reminding the visitors that as religious leaders, they should ensure zero tolerance for Shila Boys activities, reiterating that the fresh air government remains committed to give necessary support to achieve Adamawa where peace and tranquility prevails.

She urged them to always lead by example by working towards the realization of the United and peaceful Adamawa devoid of religion as well as ethnic bigotry.

Professor Farauta said as religious leaders, they should always center their teachings on what can unite the followers, rather than division.

While warning them against falsehood or rumours capable of causing tension, the deputy Governor tasked them to eschew religion and ethnic differences, instead be the ambassors of proper upbringing of children in their various domain.

Earlier, the delegation from Adamawa State Muslim Council led by its Chairman Gambo Jika informed the deputy Governor that they were in her office to congratulate her and the fresh air administration, wishing them success.

He reminded her that leadership is a difficult tasked, urged her to work closely with Governor Fintiri being his deputy by towing the path of equity, Justice and fairness already demonstrated by the people's Governor, which according to Jika are some of the attributes of a good leader.

The Chairman noted that she is a woman of pedigree who can add value to the government of the day, praying for wisdom, knowledge and understanding as they lead Adamawa on the path of unity and progress.

Jika thereafter, pledged their total commitment to support her and the entire administration to achieve a greater Adamawa.
