The Acting Governor, Professor Keletapwa Farauta has embarked on inspecting the newly constructed site at the Model Smart School in Yola today, 28th August 2023 through the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) in collaboration with Adamawa State Government.
The Acting Governor, Kaletapwa along side the Secretary to the State Government, Auwal Tukur, Chief of Staff Government House Yola, Dr. Edgar Amos and Commissioner Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Comrade Garba Pella, the Executive Secretary, Universal Basic Education Dr. Hamid Bobboyi among other Government officials were at the Permanent Site of the Model Smart School.
The Adamawa State Government, expressed satisfaction over the quality of work put in place and the quality of facilities provided by the Federal Government to focus on advancing technology.
Professor Farauta said the Model Smart School Initative could not have come at a better time than now, especially now that the world is going digital. She gave the submission shortly after inspecting the ongoing project which is expected to kick start soon.
Farauta said the schools are starting all over the country and Adamawa is not exceptional. They are called smart schools because it is expected that technology would take the lead and not the normal type of analog teaching method. She was satisfied with the state of the art facilities provided for quality learning. The programm will also help teachers to meet new challenges and developing students abilities and performance.
The officials were conducted round by the Executive Secretary, Universal Basic Education Commission, Dr. Hamid Bobboyi, has reiterated the commitment of the Federal Government to commence operation in the newly constructed smart school in Yola. Added that the major goal of the UBE programm is to ensure that all children, regardless of ethnicity, religion, class or gender have access to quality education.
Bobboyi revealed that the project is the Federal Government Initiative covering states of the federation through Universal Basic Education.
