The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reassured of Government readiness and commitment to provide enabling Environment for learning to take place.
 
The Governor gave the assurance at a one day "International Literacy Day" and the first market fair on early grade reading materials held at the Banquet Hall, Government House Yola, Thursday 8th September, 2023.

The event was organized by Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board ADSUBEB in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) leveraging Education assistance resources in Nigeria to read, with a theme "Improving Literacy Through Innovations in Early Grade Reading".

Speaking through his Deputy Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said, Government remains committed to continue investing in Education Sector in view of its importance, thereby providing much needed support to ensure children have access to Basic Education and can able to Read and Write.

He tasked parents to go back to Basic Foundation of Teaching their Children how to Read and Write in their Local Dialect.

While commending partners for their Developmental activities in the State, the Governor challenged them to scale up their activities to cover the whole State which also focuses on increasing access to quality and inclusive Basic Education.

The State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development Dr. Umar Garba Pella, represented by the Executive Director Education Resource Centre Yola, Tanko Musa had earlier acknowledged the supportive spirit of Governor Fintiri towards Educational activities, saying the whole idea of the project is to improve teaching and learning outcome at the Basic Level.

Having said that, massive investment of the Fresh Air Government has provoked access to Education, Retention and Completion, Musa further solicits for Investors, Government, Stakeholders among others to galvernize resources towards providing pupils with reading materials, based on the adage "Education for all, is the responsibility of all".

The Acting Chairman Universal Basic Education Board, Abdullahi Ismaila also commended Governor Fintiri for supporting the noble course of Education in diverse ways, reminding stakeholders that Education is a yardstick for Development, hence the need to support the Educational pursuit of Children for Peaceful, Productive and well Developed Society.
