Adamawa State Government has reiterated his continued commitment to render financial and logistic support to Nigeria armed forces for effective service delivery.

This was disclosed on Wednesday, at the emblem appeal launched as part of week-long run activities to commemorate the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day held at the Council Chambers, Government House, Yola.

Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Kaletapwa Farauta, said the day accord an opportunity to honor the sacrifices of veteran soldiers who dedicated themselves to keep Nigeria united and secured as well as remember those that paid a supreme price for the nation.

She reemphasised that Governor Fintiri's administration will never tolerate anything capable of jeopardizing the safety and well being of the citizens, hence the government’s continuous investment in security to make the state one of the safest in Nigeria.

She said the Government  has achieved much in Education, Agriculture, Capital Projects, and Skills Acquisition through various Youths and women empowerment programs.    

While acknowledging the vigor of the service men and sacrifices of the fallen heroes, the governor pledged government’s continuous support for the state chapter of the Nigeria Legion to  improve their well being and that of their families.

Farauta lauded the military for their good role in fighting insurgency in the the North-East regions and Adamawa state to be precise.

The State Chairman of the Nigeria Legion, Master Warrant Officer, Ali Mohammed Retired lauded the bravery of the military and the veterans for their roles in Peacekeeping within and outside Nigeria.

He commended the developmental achievements of the Fresh Air Administration which is for the betterment of the state, soliciting for more support to the Legion to better the lives of the families of the fallen heroes in the state.
Earlier, the State Head of Service, Isa Shehu Ardo saluted the resilience and sacrifices of the fallen heroes, advocating for more support for their families by Government, individuals, groups, Civil Society Organizations amongst others in view of their contributions in protecting the territorial integrity of Nigeria
