Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Mr Makallan Akila Holds Familiarisation Meeting with Staff.

The newly posted Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning,  Mr. Makallan Akila has on Monday 4th March, 2024 held a familiarization meeting with the staff of the Ministry.

   

The meeting was chaired by the Permanent Secretary and him being a straight forward person listed  his track record from his previous Ministry. He said,  " am here to make changes that will move the Ministry forward." Akila charged all to always think of the Ministry first above all things and promised to carry everyone along. He stressed that capacity building via trainings will cut across the entire Ministry not just a selected few, this he said will equip all with adequate work knowledge. 

Mr Akila affirmed that he is not an expert in Budgeting but he is a fast learner and is willing to learn from everyone on ground, and promised to handsomely reward hard work at all levels. He advised all to adhere to work ethics and the code of conduct guiding civil service, adding that working together as a team in the Ministry, being the engine that sees to the Budget preparation of the state needs able hands hence the need for capacity building via trainings at all levels.

Before the meeting came to an end, the floor was opened for questions, complains, suggestions and advice if any. He noted all that came from various Departments and vowed to see that changes are effected speedily for everyone to contribute their quota in the making of a greater Adamawa State that we all deserve.
