ANIVERSARY:Adamawa State Government Lines Up Activities to Mark Governor Fintiri's Anniversary in Office.

The Adamawa State Government has lined up a series of activities to celebrate the first anniversary of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri's second term in office.

Briefing newsmen on Sunday at the Conference Hall, Government House Yola, the Chief of Staff, Government House Yola, Dr Edgar Amos, said the activities include a series of project commissionings, flag-offs for the construction of new projects, completions of old projects, a lecture, a media parley, and a dinner.

According to Dr Amos, the activities will commence on Monday, 20 May 2024, with the flag-off of the construction of a road network at the Federal Housing Unit in Gerei Local Government Area at 10:00 AM.

On Tuesday, 21 May, activities will include the flag-off for the construction of a 7-span flyover bridge along the Yola junction at AA Lawan and a half cloverleaf interchange along the Yola-Numan road that will link the Super Highway with the 7-span flyover bridge, at 10:00 AM. On the same day, at 12:00 noon, there will be the flag-off for the completion of phase 1 of the Jimeta Stadium along the Yola-Numan road.

The Chief of Staff further disclosed that on Thursday, 23 May, the Demsa Cottage Hospital and Demsa township road will be commissioned in Demsa, Demsa LGA, at 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM respectively. Also, in Demsa LGA at 12:00 noon, the Dong-Bille-Kpasham electrification project will be commissioned.

He stated that on Friday, 24 May, during Jumu'at prayers at 1:30 PM, prayers will be observed at Agga Mosque to mark the first anniversary of the second term in office of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. On Sunday, 26 May, at 8:00 AM, similar prayers will be held at Ekklisiyar Yan Uwa a Nigeria (EYN).

Dr Edgar Amos further explained that on Tuesday, 28 May, a public lecture titled "The Conticent of Politics" will be delivered by the Vice Chancellor, Modibbo Adama University Yola, Professor Abdullahi Liman Tukur, to mark the anniversary. The Chairman of the occasion will be General Haladu Anthony Hannaniya (RTD), mni. The lecture will be held at the Banquet Hall, Government House Yola, at 10:00 AM.

He stated that the evening programme will begin at 7:00 PM with a media parley featuring selected political editors from renowned media houses. This will be followed by a dinner at the Banquet Hall, Government House Yola.

Dr Amos revealed that on Wednesday, 29 May, which marks the fifth anniversary of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri as Adamawa State Governor, there will be a state broadcast aired at 7:00 AM.

At 10:00 AM, there will be the commissioning of a grade interchange at the former Police Roundabout in Jimeta-Yola, Yola North LGA.

The Chief of Staff, Government House Yola, concluded by stating that due to the numerous completed projects in the state, project commissioning will continue beyond 29 May. He said one such project to be commissioned is the Pella-Maiha road on 30 May.
