MATRICULATION:Gov. Fintiri Commends MAU for it's Culture of Excellence.

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has commended the management of Modibo Adama University, Yola for it's culture of Excellence in all ramifications.

The Governor stated this while speaking at the official 28th Convention Ceremony, held on Saturday, 4th May, 2024, at the University Convocation Square.

The convocation ceremony,  which awarded Certificates, Diplomas, First and Higher Decrees,  has become an annual tradition of the University as well as aimed at showcasing its great achievements and successes.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, who was represented by his Deputy Professor Keletapwa George Faurata, commended the Management as well as the Council of the Modibbo Adama University, Yola for maintaining culture of Excellence in all ramifications.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, therefore, congratulated the vice chancellor of the institution Professor Liman Tukur for bringing the university far and well especially at this challenging time.

While applauding Professor Liman for the great effort towards sustaining the University, Governor Fintiri noted that he looked forward to welcome him into more challenging world of service where his acumen is required at a larger scale.

Governor Fintiri, said "As government we are always proud of the already established relationship with the university build over the years as well a role of a good tenant that serves its landlord loyalty."

The Vice Chancellor of Modibbo Adama University, Professor Abdullahi Liman Tukur at the 28th Convention Ceremony,  said " It is with a sense of pride, accomplishment, and a touch of sadness that I address you on this 28th Convocation day and as your outgoing Vice Chancellor, with less than five weeks to the end of my tenure."

Professor Liman Tukur, while speaking at the ceremony said, over the past five years it has been an honor and privilege to lead the esteemed institution, it has so far recorded tremendous achievement as well progress made in advancing the missions and vision of the University.

According to him  " They are a total of 5,545 candidates from the 2022/2023 Academic Session with few from previous sessions, 458 Diplomas and 4282 in the Bachelor's Degree category, with 53 First Class, 1,143 Second Class Upper, 2,376 Second Class Lower, 682 Third Class and 28 Pass Degrees. 

For the the Higher Degrees, we shall award 41 Postgraduate Diplomas, 630 Masters Degrees and 134 ph.Ds. in various disciplines. As always, the certificates of all the graduates are ready for collection on the day of convocation" he said.

Professor Liman Tukur, appreciated the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, His Excellency Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for always championing causes associated with education and this University. He believes in as well as promotes partnership between government and the Academia which has continuously been of mutual benefit.
