Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has flagged off the construction of a 7-span overhead bridge along Yola, AA Lawan Junction and a half Cloverleaf interchange along Yola- Numan road in Yola, the state capital.

The ground breaking ceremony was performed on Tuesday by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the AA Lawan Junction in Jimeta-Yola.
While delivering his speech at the ceremony, Governor Fintiri explained that the two projects will provide necessary convenience to the users.
"These two projects are very important because of their strategic status in completing the superhighway we flagged up on 10th October 2023" Governor Fintiri said.

"With this addition by design, the superhighway would now commence from the half cloverleaf interchange at Numan-Yola Road and empty its traffic at the 7 Span Overhead Bridge along Yola – A. A. Lawan Junction.
"This design is a masterpiece that would add not only municipal ecstatic to the city but provide the necessary convenience to commuters plying the road".

According to Governor Fintiri, the project will create a new settlement and improve access to the city.

He explained that the project includes building new roads, potentially creating a whole new area in Yola. And, the new area will be conveniently located near the 1000 large housing development project at Malkohi.
Governor Fintiri said, the project will benefit Yola, the center of the Fombina Emirate, while explaining further the reasons for the project to include: Yola is growing rapidly, and the project is necessary to accommodate that growth; the new infrastructure will improve the city's ability to handle a larger population and more economic activity; and is part of a long-term plan to create a modern, well-equipped capital city for Adamawa state.
The Yola North constituency Member of the State House of Assembly, Suleiman Umar Alkali, remarked that the project is a testament to the governor's capacity to overcome the capital city's recent tribulations.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Works and Energy Development, Adamu Atiku Abubakar, commented that the launch of these two projects signifies Governor Fintiri's dedication to propelling Adamawa State towards prosperity.

In turn, Engineer Ghassan Ghanem, Project Manager for MSSRS Triacta Nigeria Limited's Yola office, pledged that the firm will deliver high-quality work and complete the projects within the twelve-month timeframe.

The District Head of Karewa, Barrister Musa Abdu, recognised the undeniably forward-thinking nature of constructing flyovers in Yola, and expressed the people's enduring gratitude to the Governor for this act of generosity.
