The Adamawa state commissioner of Environment, Hon. Bulus
Hammaji Bebe has advocated for tree planting by the entire people of Adamawa
because of the dangers and hazards lack of trees might cause
to the people of entire Northern Nigeria.
Bebe said his mission is to campaign and to create
awareness to the people of Adamawa State by " save our forest, cut one
grow ten " to bring consciousness in the minds of people to cultivate
the habit of planting trees.
According to him the aim is to combat desertification and
mitigation which has a serious effect on climate change,which is mostly
cause by uncontrollable exploitation of forest resources and if left
unchecked could damaged the entire land system in Northern Nigeria.
"Therefore I am appealing to the public to plant and
maintain trees to safe guard our environment, we should stop
indiscriminate felling of trees and uncontrolled bush burning, let us
protect our environment for future use". He concluded
