The
Ebonyi state government has donated food items worth millions of Naira to
internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Adamawa state.
The
IDPs equally enjoyed the benevolence of Doctor Eze Ezediomma Aniagu
from Enugu state of relief materials.
Receiving
the donation, Governor Muhammadu Umar Jibrilla said the state is appreciative
of the gesture and pledged to enhance cordial relationship with the states.
Eze
Ezediomma Aniagu a paramount leader and National President of Christians,
Muslims and African Traditional Religion, explained that the donation was a
collective decision to assist displaced persons who have been ravaged by
insurgency.
He
said the group will visit communities in the state to render its assistance
to enable them overcome the effects of insurgency and prayed for an end to
the scourge of insurgency in the country.
Meanwhile,
Governor Muhammadu Umar Jibrilla has assured the state Chambers of Commerce
of continued collaboration to enhance development of the state.
Receiving
members of the Chambers at the Council Chambers of Government House in Yola,
the Governor said plans are in the pipeline to enhance Commerce in the state.
He
said various road projects and empowerment programme of the present
administration is to encourage people to be business minded and urged that
insecurity is a challenge which is gradually been overcome.
In
his remark, President of Chambers of Commerce in the state, Alhaji Bashir
Suleiman Ribadu urged Governor Jibrilla to reintroduce economic summit as
well as permit the body to manage Mahmud Ribadu Square and appoint
representative of the body in critical organisations such as the
International Hotel and Jimeta modern market among others.
