NEWS: Commissioner for Information Laud Ministry of Justice

The  Hon. Commissioner  for  Information   Comrade  Ahmad  Sajoh has    described  the  role  of  state  Counsels  posted  to  ministries  as  critical  and  timely. He  stated   this  when  a  committee of   verification  from  the   Ministry   of   justice   headed  by  Barr. Musa   Mijinyawa  paid  a  courtesy  call.
 

Comrade  Sajoh  explained    that   the   website   of   the  state  government   has  been  moved  to   the    Ministry   of   Information, stressing  that  already  a  blog  has  been   established   in  the  Ministry   to   showcase  government   activities   and   programmes  to   the   outside  world. The  commissioner  revealed   that   so  far  Adamawa  state  has   moved   from   the  rear  position of 36  to 15  in  the   country, describing  this   development   as  a  landmark. 

Given  this  development ,  the   Ministry   will  require   the  wise  counsel  of   Ministry   of   justice  on  the   legal   implications   of   what   to  post  on  Web site. In  addition, the   Commissioner  decried  the   obsolete  laws  establishing  our  media houses, ATV, ABC, APL  and  Government   Printer   and  appealed  to the  Ministry  of   Justice  to   update  them  in  tune  with   the  current   realities  of  the   times. He  said   that   government   has  expanded  the   reach  of   some   of  these   media  houses   while  others  are  in  the   process. 

Hon. Sajoh  said   that    the   Ministry   is  going   out   on a  campaign  to   all  the   Local   Government Areas   to  keep  the   rural  communities   on  the   direction  of  the  government. The   Commissioner   emphasized   that   government   is  partnering  with   traditional   institutions    describing   development   and  security   as  community   driven. He  commended   ministry   of   justice   for  the   decision   to   post   law  officers  to   ministries ,  promising   to  cooperate  with   the   officer posted to the Ministry. 

Earlier,  the   leader   of   the   committee   Barr. Musa  Mijinyawa   told  the   commissioner   that   they   were   in   the   Ministry   to   assess the   performance   of   their  officer. He   appealed   to the   Commissioner   to  create  an  enabling  environment   for  the   officer  to  operate.
