The
North East Regional Initiative NERI, again donated another set of Six
Hundred and Fifty Eight Desks to the Adamawa State Agency for Mass
Education, the agency is saddled with responsibility to among other
things provide Adult Education in the State.
Receiving the items from the Representative of NERI Miss
Amanda Mustapha, the Deputy Governor Hon. Martins Babale who reprented
Governor Mahammad Umaru Jibrilla, Applauded NERI for Patronising the
State and Promised to Provide the Needed atmosphere for NERI to carry on
with her Humanitarian Activities in the State. He Urged the Agency to use the items
for the purpose they are provided.
On her part, the Hon. Commissioner of Education Dr. Kaletapwa G. Farauta appreciated NERI, recalling the kind gesture
it extended to the State during the Independence Celebrations on the 1st of October, 2015 when NERI organised a drawing
competition in Gombi Local Government Area of the state where it
presented gifts to all students at the event. The Commissioner called on
donors agencies to emulate NERI.
In his welcome address the Representative of the Executive
Director of the Agency Mr. Linus W. Samuel Said NERI would have not
come in a better time than this, when the agency is looking into
expanding its horizon across the entire state, He urged the State Government to ensure that the items are utilized effectively and for the benefit of the citizens of the State.
Other dignitaries who graced the event include the Deputy
Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education Alh. Umar Barkindo, the
Executive Secretary Post Primary Schools Management Board Haj. Bilkisu
Kalid, The Executive Chairman Universal Basic Education Board Dr .
Hassan Tongo among many others.
Also at the Occasion were the Executive Director, Adamawa
state Education Resource Centre Mr. Director Admin Mr. Ibrahim Obadia,
Director Quality Assurance Mrs Nancy Ahmadu and her colleague from the
State Universal Basic Education Board Mallam Saidu Kumsiri as well as the Director Planning Research and Statistics Malam Orthman
Bakari.
