SPECIAL REPORT:Honourable Commissioner State Ministry of Environment Applaudes Governor Bindow

The Honourable Commissioner State Ministry of  Environment Hon. Hammaji J. Bulus who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Mr Barnabas G. Pata had commented the efforts of Governor Jibrilla Bindow for work well done .Mr. Bata who had on 29th February, 2016 visited Police Barracks Quarters and Bisimau Damilu for the ongoing evacuation of refuse dumps within the Metropolitan,

"I urged the residents to comply totally with the Environmental Sanitation and stop indiscriminate dumping of refuse "Barnabas said. 

He added that this is one of the periods that the ministry has been longing to see, this is our struggle, and effort, it has always been our desire to see that Adamawa State is clean just like other States in the Federation. It is said that cleanliness is next to godliness and if we want to be godly we have to be clean. Our Environment must be clean he added. "I want to express my gratitude and appreciate the Government for listening to us and making it possible to Evacuate the waste. This is my moment of joy and there is nothing one will expect in his career that seeing where ever he is to manage is effective " Pata added. 

He said the mass evacuation of waste within Yola North and Yola South is being manage effectively and by the grace of God the work will also take place in Vinikilang under Gerei Local Government. The residents of the sanitized  areas should make sure that after this sanitation exercise waste should not be dump indiscriminately, adding that  there are areas designated for waste disposal. People should endeavor to deposit waste in such Areas. Mr Pata had also said that there are some Private Waste Collectors that have already registered with the state Ministry of Environment, this people are allowed  to collect waste at agreed rate from household. Residents should please patronize them so that so they can be able to convey the waste to the designated Areas.

The Director Pollution and Waste Management Control Mohammed Ibrahim Shall who said the programme is a welcome idea, as we all know health is wealth and we are also aware of how indiscriminate waste has taken the greater part Yola. Mallam Ibrahim thank the Executive Governor for this great exercise seeing that the waste is being Evacuated, and the surrounding will be clean. Public will be free from diseases that is related to this accumulation of waste."Therefore it is in this regard that I am advising the residents that waste should be please dump at appropriate place, indiscriminate dumping of refuse affect our health "Mohammed said.

He added by saying the major thrust of the Environmental Sanitation practice that shall promote public health and welfare, improve quality of lifly, reduce poverty and ensure a sustainable environment.

The Ward Head of Bisimau Damilu Mohammed Iliyasu who really showed his gratitude to Governor Jibrilla Bindow for the steps he has embarked on towards tackling Environmental issues and people's need. He said this heaps of dumps has been here for a period of time but thank God this present administration has imbibe the habit of evacuating waste. Iliyasu added by saying the major problem of this place is that people all over the Metropolitan dumped their waste here. "I am pleading with the Government to please involve security guards to take over this place and we will also assist them to see that refuse is not longer dump here".
