FCT MINISTER FORMALLY SENDS-OFF FCDA
EXECUTIVE SECRETARY
FCT
Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, has formally sent-off the former Executive
Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Engr. Adamu
Ismaila.
The
Minister who was represented by FCT Permanent Secretary, Dr. Babatope Ajakaiye
chaired the event that culminated with a valedictory Management meeting of the
FCT Administration at the FCDA Conference Room Thursday.
The
Minister said that the FCT Administration has brought this noble innovation to
honour the former Executive Secretary in order to spur those still in service
to give in their best to the service of the FCT Administration and by extension
their father land.
According
to him, the present leadership in the FCT Administration came in when so many
things needed attention ranging from environmental management to streetlights maintenance
and that the former Executive Secretary was always there to give a guide.
Malam
Bello therefore called on those the former Executive Secretary has left behind
to emulate the hard work and steadfastness because Abuja has remained the
window in which the world sees Nigeria.
He
reiterated that though the ceremony is supposed to be solemn in nature but
joyous, as all other top technocrats in the system are aspiring and looking forward
to officially disengage from service like this without any problem.
His
words: “When we came on board Engr. Adamu Ismaila was always on hand to show us
the pathways especially as he believes in the spirit of excellence.”
Welcoming
guests to the ceremony, the FCT Director of Establishment and Training, Mr. Salihu
Hawat Mohammed gave credit for this wonderful innovation to the FCT Minister
and Permanent Secretary as it has afforded the Administration to appreciate one
of its special ones.
The Director
emphasized that the celebrant, Engr. Ismaila has left his marks in the service
of the FCT as he rose from a humble beginning as Resident Engineer in 1982 to
the pinnacle of his career as the Executive Secretray of the FCDA when he
retired on October 5, 2016.
Mr. Mohammed
urged the staff of the FCT Administration to continue to support and cooperate
with the Minister and the Permanent Secretary in the great task of building “Abuja
of our dream”.
Responding,
the celebrant, Engr. Ismaila appreciated the honour done to him and assured
that he has not gone away because he remains a strong member of the FCT
Administration family since he has nowhere to go after serving in FCTA for
three and half decades.
While
urging those he left behind to maintain the high standard of infrastructural development
Abuja is known for, Engr. Ismaila however urged the authorities to take the
issue of recruitment of new staff very seriously to ensure that the chain is
not broken.
“I am
part and parcel of the FCT Administration for life and I plead with all those I
have offended to forgive me as such offence was not intentional,” he added.
Signed.

Hazat Sule, FCAI
