The FCT Administration will assist to bring back the past glory of the IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja to enable it take its proper position as an heritage tourism landmark in the Federal Capital Territory.
The FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello gave this assurance, while receiving the Chairman and members of the Board of Trustees of the IBB International Golf and Country Club that paid him a visit in his office.
Malam Bello emphasized that the Club is an international tourism landmark that should be restored to the first class standard it was at inception. 
According to him, “the FCT Administration would do everything possible to help maintain the standard of the IBB International Golf and Country club as one of the landmark and tourism sites in the Federal Capital Territory.”
His words: “We must join hands to strengthen the beauty and serenity of the place for the benefit of the entire Federal Capital City, Abuja.”
The Minister said that he would personally visit the Club to identify the cause of flooding which brings in debris into that environment; noting that the problem would be identified and solved before the next raining season.
He stated that this action would go a long way not only to protect the aesthetic beauty of that heritage landmark but would also protect the aquatic life of some of the marine animals there. 
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the IBB International Golf and Country Club, Major-General IBM Haruna (Retired) lauded the efforts of the current FCT Administration in the areas of security, environment and road reconstruction that has received due attention. 
The Chairman called on the Minister and his counterpart in the Federal Ministry of Environment to give annual subvention to the Club from the FCTA and Environment Ministry for regular maintenance the place.
General Haruna also appealed to the FCT Administration to give waiver on annual ground rent for the Golf Course.
