PRESS STATEMENT BY ADAMAWA STATE GOVERNMENT

His Excellency the Executive Governor, Senator Muhammad Umar Jibrilla has approved that Monday the 26th and Tuesday the 27th of December, 2016 be declared public holidays to mark the Christmas and Boxing Day celebrations. 

The Governor has equally approved the declaration of Monday the 2nd January 2017 as a public holiday to mark the New Year ceremonies.

His Excellency also extends sincere felicitations to all the people of the state during these festive seasons and prays that the blessings of God Almighty continue to descend on our state for greater peace, prosperity and development.

Governor Muhammad Umar Jibrilla equally calls for greater unity and understanding among the people of the state in line with the universal doctrines of peace which the Christmas period represents. 

It is also imperative for the people of the state to continue to be vigilant and security conscious during this festive period in order to guard against social miscreants using the period to unleash any criminal activity.

His Excellency wishes everyone a merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.
