The Adamawa chapter of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCN), has lauded the State Government for utilizating part of the Paris Club refund in paying arrears of  local government workers.


The Chairman of the Association, Mr James Pukuma, made the commendation  in Yola at the Opening Ceremony of a seminar on "Conflict Free Civil Service" organized by the Association.


"We have never had it so good like this, both workers and citizenry. "In spite of the low revenue, workers at the state level have never lost any salary.


"We equally thank him (Governor)  for addressing the salary problems of Teachers, Primary Healthcare and Medical and Health Workers with Paris Refund."


Pukuma said that the seminar was part of series of such seminars being conduct by the union to enhance workers productivity and proficiency in service delivery.


Pukuma said that the Association had also concluded arrangement to send the third batch of 45 members for another full time course in computer.


Declaring the seminar open, the State Head of Service, Alhaji Musa Kaibo, lauded the leadership of the union for leaving up to expectation in contributing to human capacity building of its members.


Kaibo said that the state government was happy with the organized labour in the state for what he described as "showing understanding in this difficult time when the state hardly gets enough from the Federation Account."


He lauded the  cordial and harmonious relationship between government and unions in the state, and urged for its sustenance.
