The Minister reiterated that the provision of water supply is one of the cardinal principles of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and therefore must be given top priority.

His words: “The Karshi water system supply project including the dam that we are inspecting today and the water treatment plant downstream, in addition to its reticulation into the city are all very critical projects that must be prioritized for completion”.

According to him, “I have come together with the relevant agencies and their leadership, including the Permanent Secretary to see and have a firsthand feel of the project and its challenges, since Karshi is one of the Satellite Towns of the Territory”.

He assured that the completion of the water project will go a long way in ameliorating the water problem in Karshi and its environs and therefore all efforts must be made to have it completed.

“In line with the government’s policy of trying to complete ongoing projects, particularly projects that have the widest potential benefit to the greatest number of people, we have considered this project a priority project and we do hope that we will be able to devote time and resources to see that it is completed in good time,” he added.
