Again, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has reaffirmed its commitment to ensure the Abuja Rail Mass Transit is completed in December, 2017.

The Permanent Secretary of Federal Capital Territory, Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa reaffirmed the position of the Administration on Wednesday during a site visit to the Project.

He said: “Let me re-iterate that the December completion target for Abuja Rail Project remains sacrosanct. From the level of work I have seen on ground, this December completion period is achievable.”

Mr. Ohaa who expressed satisfaction with the pace of the work done so far, further disclosed that the project has attended 98% per cent completion rate.

The Permanent Secretary expressed optimism that the Rail project would drastically ease transportation challenges in Abuja when operational.

“I am very much impressed with the way the project has been going. So far, the project has hit 98% completion rate. This to me, is very encouraging and impressive.

“As we all know, this project will address immensely our nagging transportation issues in and out of the city, he disclosed.”

Mr.Ohaa further maintained that the project would be ready for full commercialization in March 2017, adding that already, the Administration is working assiduously to address whatever that may constitute a challenge against the project from becoming operational in due time.

According to the Permanent Secretary, when the project finally takes off, it would further add to the monumental achievements of the President Muhammadu Buhari led government. He therefore, called on Nigerians to continue to support the change agenda of the President Buhari which is hinged on making Nigeria great in the comity of nations.

Mr. Ohaa used the visit to commend the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello for his dogged commitment to ensure the project takes off in due time.

“We need to commend the Minister for his courage in seeing to the timely completion of this very critical project”, he said.
