The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) has commended the authorities of Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) for prudent management of the nation’s capital resources and also ensuring financial accountability.

The Chairman of the FCT Chapter of the Association, Alhaji Abdullahi Baba Yahaya gave the thump up on Thursday in Abuja when he paid a courtesy call on the FCT Permanent Secretary, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa.

He said: We need to commend the FCT Administration for ensuring prudent management of the resources at its disposal. We know the Permanent Secretary and the Minister to be people of frugal lifestyle and this is something we need to commend them for.”

The ANAN Chairman emphasized the need for both organizations to work closely for the achievement of the Change Agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari led government.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa thanked the Association for supporting the efforts of Federal Government in ensuring that the country exit recession in a very short while.

He said: “We want to recognize the efforts of ANAN in churning out professional accounting and financial knowledge which indeed assisted in ensuring that Nigeria overcome the challenge of recession it went through recently.”

 Sir Ohaa further revealed that FCT Administration would partner with the Association in the area of training and retraining of its staff, adding that the Association has carved a niche for itself in terms of ensuring financial prudence in the management of resources.

In another related development, Sir Ohaa has assured residents of the Territory that the FCT Administration would continue to collaborate with organizations who are genuinely interested in improving the quality of lives of the residents.

The Permanent Secretary who made the disclosure when the Chief Executive Officer Officer and Registrar of the National Institute of Animal Science,Prof.Eustace Iyayi paid him a courtesy visit in his office, further assured the institute that the Administration would partner closely with them to move the protein industry in the Territory forward.

Earlier, in his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer and Registrar of the Institute commended the FCT Administration for restoring the payment of CONHESS to about 253 non-health professionals in the FCT Hospitals.
