PRESS RELEASE:FCTA TO INAUGURATE RECONSTITUTED BOARDS OF AGENCIES, PARASTATALS, TUESDAY, JANUARY 30.

The FCT Administration will on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, inaugurate the reconstituted boards of agencies and parastatals under the Administration. The reconstitutions which were made in compliance with the various laws and instruments establishing these agencies have been designed to strengthen institutional performance and service delivery.

The agencies and extra departmental organizations whose boards will be inaugurated are as follows:  

Ø Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA),

Ø Abuja Property Development Company, (APDC)

Ø Abuja Environmental Protection Agency, (AEPB)

Ø Abuja Investment and Infrastructure Centre (AIIC) and the

Ø  FCT Universal Basic Education Board FCT UBEB).

Others are,

Ø FCT Secondary Education Board (FCT SEB),

Ø FCT Scholarship Board FCTSB),

Ø FCT Primary Healthcare Development Board (FCT PHDB),

Ø Area Council Service Commission (ACSC) and

Ø  Abuja Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

Their inauguration represents the concluding rites following the release of the list of the membership of the concerned boards by President Muhammadu Buhari on December 29, 2017. The membership totalling more 140 members comprise eminently qualified Nigerians who have been saddled with the task of ensuring the effective running of these agencies and parastatals.

A letter of invitation dispatched from the office of the Permanent Secretary FCT Administration indicated that, the event which has been slated for 11am on Tuesday, will take place at the International Conference Centre, Central Business District, Abuja.  

The composition of these boards it was stated has been carefully considered to reflect competence, credibility, integrity, federal character and geopolitical spread. Members are to provide proper governance and oversight for these government institutions.
