As Christians i Nigeria join their counterparts in the world to celebrate this year's Easter holiday, the Governor of Adamawa State, Sen Mohammed Umar Jibrilla, has urged them to exhibit Christ-like virtues of love, compassion and selflessness, as well as devoid of sentiments.

A statement by his SA on Media and Publicity, Macauley Hunohashi, quoted the Governor saying, "We have alot to learn from the life, death and ressurection of Jesus Christ as it exemplifies peace, unconditional love and compassion".

"More than wining and dining, these special days call for prayer for our nation and our leaders so that we can overcome the challenges we are passing through as a country".

He called on all Christians in Adamawa State to continue to support his administration, reiterating his resolve to provide dividends of good governance for the people.

Sen. Jibrilla noted that political bickering, mudslinging, calumny and hate-speach are antithetical to our culture and a viable democratic Journey, urging political leaders and youths to join hands in ensuring that peace reigns in the state, "God did not ask our permission before he created us as Christians or Muslims, this presupposes that we must love one another irrespective of our religious, cultural or tribal background".
