The need for peaceful co-existence among the adherants of Islam and Christianity have again been stressed. The Emir of Mubi in Adamawa state Alh. Dr. Abubakar Isa Amadu made this assertion while declaring open a one day meeting organized by Nigerian Muslim/Christian Council in Yola recently.

Alh Abubakar Isa Ahmedu, who was represented by the Executive Secretary of the Council Apostle Vandi Luka, said the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended has guaranteed the freedom of worship for Citizen. He cautioned the people to practice their religious obligation according to the dictates of the holy books.

Similarly, In his speech at the occasion, the Hon. Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ahmad Sajoh said “No religion encourages its adherents to engage in violence, hatred or treat other faith with scorn or disdain but instead preaches faithfulness on the virtue of peace, unity and good neighbourliness and above all love for one another”

He urged Religious Leaders to stand tall and ensure that the Power of Leadership in their hands is appropriately dispensed in the promotion of Peace and unity across all divides.
