Governor Muhammed Umar Jibrilla has reiterated his administration's commitment to provide quality Health Care Delivery to the people of Adamawa state. The Governor was speaking while declaring open the Physician's week of the Nigerian Medical Association at the Banquet Hall of the Government House Yola recently.
Governor Muhammed Umar Jibrilla has reiterated his administration's commitment to provide quality Health Care Delivery to the people of Adamawa state. The Governor was speaking while declaring open the Physician's week of the Nigerian Medical Association at the Banquet Hall of the Government House Yola recently.
Governor Muhammed Jibrilla said in view of the
importance attached to Health sector, his administration has
already declared a state of emergency on the sector by reconstruction
and Rehabilitation of some of the major Health institutions across the
state. He also revealed that General Hospital Mubi, Numan, Ganye
and the Yola Specialist Hospital have received Government's attention
by providing Healthcare facilities and Drugs worth Millions of
Naira in order to boost the sector.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association Adamawa state Branch Dr.Tonde Elijah had explained that the Physician's week is a weekly annual events of the Nigerian Medical Association which is primarily aimed at celebrating Medical and Dental Practitioners in recognition of the services and Dedication to wellness of their immediate communities and the nation at large and to also to look at those factors militating against the provision of effective Health Care delivery by the Nigerian Doctors.
According to Dr. Tonde Elijah, the Nigerian Medical Association NMA as a custodian of the Health of Nigerians also utilizes the period to undertake an assessment of progress made in selected key areas of Health Care delivery system during the Year. Similarly, he explained that in the year 2018, the association have analyzed key issues affecting Health Care delivery system which includes the quality of lives of Nigerians in line with the aims and objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals SDG's 2015 and decided to to explore a vital component of agenda 3 Universal Health Coverage with a Theme" Universal Health Coverage Leaving no one behind "
He however explained that a team of Doctors will be going to Mubi for medical outreach as part of its cooperate social responsibility, pointing out that there will also be a similar Medical outreach to other Towns and villages across the state.
Members of the Nigerian Medical Association had also paid a courtesy visit on Governor Muhammed Umar Jibrilla at the Council Chambers of the Government House, Yola.
