Female Journalists in collaboration with the female lawyers FIDA has on Thursday, took to  the street of the State Capital on a peace walk to create awareness to the populance on the need for a free violence election. 


The peace walk attracted youths around the Jimeta ultra modern market. 


Addressing the gathering, the National Secretary of NAWOJ, Ladi Patrick Adams said, the Nigeria Association of Women Journalist  deemed it necessary to add its voice to the voices of INEC, INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY and CIVIL SOCIETY GROUPS in preaching  the gospel of peace especially in this period of elections which is less than fourty eight hours.


On the other hand, the State coordinator of NAWAJ, Comrade Kate Aliyuda drew the attention of youths towards vote selling and the need to avoid violence of any kind, adding that, they must look forward to a brighter future by voting leaders who will brighten their future. 


Comrade Kate described the youths as a vanguard of change, and that they should shy away from challenges that are liable to disrupt the substance of peace and their future.


A cross section of youths who spoke at the gathering commended NAWOJ for initiative such a peaceful walk saying that they have every reason to respect them and also abide by the rules and regulations of the INEC. They used the forum to call on their fellow youths to stay away from being used by the politicians but rather conduct themselves in an orderly manner.
