Premium Times Center for Investigative Journalism and Fact Investigative Journalism (PTCIJ) Investigative Journalism and Fact Checking Training together with some selected Journalist have organised a 5 Day training on Investigative Journalism today being Monday 22nd of April 2019 at Homtel Derivation And Suites along Army Barracks Road Jimeta-Yola. Adamawa State. The training is schedule for 22nd - 27th of April 2019.

However, today marks Day one. The training was declared opened by Mr. Mboho Enoeno. He said that the training is to Fact-check stories that might in one way or the other affect Societies and Individuals, and how to tackle them.
One of the facilitators, Akintunde Babatunde who is the Program and Research Manager at Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism said, the training has to do with good journalism. And, how it should be free and fair, truthful and accurate. It should also help to provide citizens with information they need adding that Journalists reports must be true, independent and it should minimize harm to people.
He urged Journalist not encourage fake news.
Gbemiga Ogunleye who is also a facilitator, shared more light on how to be objective when writing reports, how important the press is and some sources of evaluation. One of the question raised include; "How does one debunk misinformation and do fact matters in journalism?
Lastly, he said that news should be free and fair. Accountability should not be left behind.
