The Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the appointment of new Kwandi Nunguraya, the First Class Chief of Lunguda Kingdom, HRH Kuruhaye Dishon Dansanda (JP).


In a statement signed by the Director-General Media and Communications Government House Yola and made available to Journalists reads in part; “A New Kwandi Nunguraya, as the Chief of Lunguda Kingdom is known, has emerged. “He is, His Royal Highness, Kuruhaye Dishon Dansanda (JP).
“The latest entrant into the ranks of Adamawa State’s First Class Royals, was born on 12th October 1974."


“A letter conveying the approval of Adamawa State Governor, His Excellency, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has since been delivered to the New Kwandi Nunguraya, by the Secretary to the State Government, Bashir Ahmad, who was accompanied to Guyuk, by the Permanent Secretary Chieftaincy Affairs Mrs. Mary Kadzai.


“Until His emergence, Kwandi Kuruhaye Dishon Dansanda, was a Senior Executive Officer with the National Commission for Museums and Monuments.


“Finally, the Governor expressed His best wishes to the New Kwandi Nunguraya as he ascends the exalted throne of His Forefathers”. 


It could be recalled that on 1st August, 2019 the 16th Chief of Lunguda Kingdom, HRH Dr. Wilfred K. Kimde from the Clan of Bongsiye died after ruling the Kingdom for twenty years, 23rd April 1999 to 1st August 2019.


HRH Kuruhaye Dishon Dansanda (JP) is now the 17th Lunguda Kingdom High Chief from Bongkumbeye Clan.


His father, late HRH Dishon Dansanda was the 13th Kwandi Nunguraya who reigned from 1956 to 1983.
