Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reinstated his commitment to build modern hostels that will accommodate more students and two new faculty at the Adamawa State University Mubi. The Governor disclosed this Thursday while addressing ADSU students in their campus when he stormed the University on a surprise visit.
Governor Fontiri affirmed that in couple of weeks contractors will be mobilize to the institutions to commence the construction work.
He charge the students to be law abiding as his administration will provide them with maximum security so that they will have peaceful and conducive learning environment.
The ATM Governor said that he has paid scholarship to Adamawa State students studying in tertiary institutions he therefore enjoined them to study hard as education a guarantee to their best future.
He charged the students to compliment government effort by studying hard and cooperate with the academic staff and management of the institution so as to achieve the set objectives of the university.
He further said that it was because of his interest for qualitative education that his administration averted strike action planned by ADSU academic staff which was why they are writing their examinations now.
While going round with Governor Fintiri to see ongoing construction work in the University by the acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kaletapwa F. George, students in their hundreds took to streets where the Governor was inspecting construction work displaying their ATM card, chanting “ATM, ATM, ATM...” and singing songs of praise to the ATM Governor in appreciation for paying them scholarship which for several years they did not receive.
