In
an effort to contain and prevent the spread of novel Coronavirus
pandemic and other infectious disease, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of
Adamawa State has commissioned a 54 bed capacity Infectious Disease
Centre.

Speaking to correspondents after commissioning the Centre, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fimtiri expressed satisfaction with the
facilities installed at the Centre, and described it the best.
The
Governor ensure proper maintenance of the edifice with deployment of
qualify medical personnel to take charge of the facilities while noting
that the health sector is headed by a qualified personnel with the
Honourable Commissioner of Health a Professor in medicine and the
Medical Director of the Specialist Hospital a Senior Consultant of
surgery.
He further assured his led administration support to
ensure proper maintenance of the facilities and to give appropriate
service to the people of the State.

Fintiri commended the Adamawa COVID-19 Containment Committee for
exhibiting transparency in ensuring that it did what was expected from
it.
Earlier, the Secretary to the State Government, Mal.
Bashiru Ahmad who is also the Chairman of Adamawa COVID-19 Containment
Committee, said the Adamawa Infectious Disease Centre was renovated to
help fight novel coronavirus pandemic and other infectious diseases.
The new Adamawa Infectious Disease Centre was the dilapidated old Psychiatric Unit of the Specialist Hospital.
Governor
Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who was accompanied by Government Officials,
politicians and well wishers, was taken round the Centre by the Hon. Commissioner of Health, Professor Abdullahi Isa.
