Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reiterated the commitment of his administration to give Furore Cottage Hospital a comprehensive facelift as part of his campaign promise.
Governor Fintiri disclosed this while he paid an assessment visit to the Cottage Hospital Wednesday to assess the condition of the health centre.
Responding to questions from Journalists after inspecting the hospital, Governor Fintiri said Furore Cottage Hospital is among the four cottage hospitals in the State that his led administration has planed to give it a total facelift.
The Governor explained that the reason for the visit is to assess the condition of the hospitals to enable his Government know how to best carried out construction and reconstruction work for the earmarked hospitals.
Governor Fintiri noted the inadequate staff in the State health sector and said that his Government will look into the issue by recruiting more qualified health workers to match the number of patients coming to the State’s hospitals.
While at the Government Secondary School (GSS) Fufore, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri decried the deplorable condition of the school and described it as a disgrace. Adding that the past administration has failed to do the needful in reconstruction of the school. He however assured that his Government will give the school a comprehensive facelift; to graduate better students that would be leaders of tomorrow.
Governor Fintiri said that his led Government has already sent consultants to assess the conditions of schools in the State and they have submitted their reports.
He assured that very soon contractors will mobilise to the site. But noted that should school resume now, the renovation work will be delayed because about twelve weeks are required to complete the work.
While praying for the end of COVID-19, Governor Fintiri disclosed that if schools will remain closed up to the month of September due to COVID-19 pandemic the contractors will be mobilised to commence work soon.
