The Adamawa State Government has on Monday, 5th October launched a referral and Reporting App for Rape cases in the State.
The Reporting and Referral App also called smart RR was developed by Big family 360 for reporting of rape cases to service providers through their mobile phones within a short period of time, and it is confidential.
The initiative is centred on ending gender based violence (GBV ) with the support from UN-EU SPOTLIGHT INITIATIVE, supported and launched by state ministry of women affairs and social integration.
Smart RR is user friendly and easy to operate.
Already about one hundred and fifty (150) cases have been repoted using the app in the State and follow up have been made with the concerned service providers.
However,the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Integration, Mrs. Laminate Ahmed Ga’anda, applauded the efforts of Big family 360 for the timely innovation that will serve as an interface between a survivor and service providers from the multiple sectors that provide the relevant technical services to the reporter in such situations.
The Commissioner urged all stakeholders to ensure that the new development help to reduce the menace of rape drastically in the state.
Also, the United Nations Population Funds Project Officer, Dr. Danladi Idrissa, encourage all stakeholders to have access to the app in order to assist survivors.
